Brevity FilmS founders Roland Kassis and Alyssa Schroeter come to film from seemingly different worlds, but they share a compelling vision for the impact that storytelling can make.
Kassis was born and raised in Beirut, Lebanon, and would live in Liberia and France, witnessing war and poverty, before settling in Allentown, PA. His entrepreneurial spirit and talent for real estate development spurred the renaissance of Philadelphia’s Fishtown District. Kassis’s perspective as an immigrant gives him a global view of American life. Brevity Films exists to show people life from each other’s point of view.
Schroeter hails from New York’s Hudson Valley and has traveled and lived across the US, honing her career across film production and development, continually guided by a deep affection for the diversity of regional and cultural experiences. Coupled with a passion for story and a keen eye for finding up and coming filmmakers, Schroeter loves challenging the norms, always seeking new ways to innovate within genres and incorporate new technology that best serves the story being told.
Kassis and Schroeter believe in the power of story, and that a comedy or a drama can be just as effective as a documentary when it comes to opening minds and creating empathy. Their unique lived experiences align in their shared belief in the truth-telling power of story, and its potential to change minds for the better, inspire systemic change, and make a positive impact on society.
